Dock Detox keeps the icons from bouncing up and down when a program wants your attention. The "animate open applications" setting only has an impact on when you open applications (which doesn't bother me).

Re: iBooked!

Whoops. I have an iBook (w/Airport card), an eMac, and a mini iPod. I'm a Mac fiend.:-)

The back shortcut for Firefox is option + left arrow. To stop your dock icons from jumping just go to System Preferences => Dock => and then uncheck the box that says "animate opening applications". I don't think you need this DockDetox thing.

I second the motion about NetNewsWire.

Re: iBooked!

Stephanie,

Congratulations! It does metacontacts in a clever way. :)
- A disk image is a .dmg file. It's a bit like a .iso that's mounted by the computer.
